About
Real2lifeeducation is a site for individuals who want to take part in reshaping a way of learning by going beyond completing a textbook or following the common core standard. This site promises to provide a platform for real2life lessons that empowers students to be critical thinkers, passionate learners, social movers, and servers of their community.
Real2lifeeducation believes in the philosophy of “Brevity at its best, because that is all you need”. This means that this site will stay true on:
- Delivering an article full of well-intentioned, necessary information.
- If something is explained or summarized, an effort is made to keep it to 5 points or less.
- Videos will remain a brief minute, but it will be worth your while.
This is purposely done to give readers, TIME. Time to be motivated to imagine, create, suggest, comment or be moved to any action.
So, now, it’s up to you..
“Get into the real2life mindset…Consider yourself educated.”
My name is Christina Nierras and I write all the articles for real2lifeeducation. I taught in the public school system in Guam, and I am presently teaching in Saipan Community School in the Northern Mariana Islands. In total, I have been an educator for 12 years.
For all these years, I am confident to say that my students have learned much from me, but honestly, I have no problem saying I have learned more from them. When my objective is to be a flexible and an adaptable kind of teacher, learning my students’ needs becomes the priority. This means different classes needing different lessons every year.
Each year, I strive to deliver LESSONS, NOT CONTENT, to my listeners. I make sure that they are applicable to their life, not collecting dust in their minds…or worse, disintegrate. They needed to be lessons that could get their minds working and their hearts burning… This is real2lifeeducation.
At the end of the year, when we wrap things up, my students would return their textbooks. I know I failed them when I hear them say, “Here’s the textbook, good riddance.” But I know I did something right when they return it back and ask, “What’s next?” This is the real2life mindset.
